Serous Macular Detachments in Inflammatory Diseases

Serous macular edema occurs due to leakage of fluid from perifoveal capillaries as a result of disruption of the innerouter blood-retinal barrier. Serous detachment is usually accompanied cystoid or diffuse macular edema. Visual prognosis is usually favorable in serous detachment.
