Sickle cell disease is one of the most common genetic disease worldwide. The pathophysiology of the disease is not limited to abnormal red blood cells. Endothelial activation, inflammation, and oxidative stress have an effect on the sickle cell disease. The most significant ocular changes occur in the retina.
