M.D. Professor, Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Adana/TURKEY Diabetic macular edema (DME) is the most important ocular complication of diabetes mellitus that can result with visual loss. Many factors are responsible in ethiopathogenesis and ideal treatment is not mentioned yet. Nowadays, laser photocoagulation, intravitreal or periocular injection, pars plana vitrectomy are among therapeutic options. In this review, we discussed application of combined DME therapy in order to potentialise the current methods and degrade side effects.
