A CASE REPORT: OPTIC NERVE COLOBOMA (MORNING GLORY SYNDROME) WITH COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY FINDINGS

Congenital intraocular coloboma is the result of incomplete closure of the embryonic fissure of them optic cup during the fifth week of embryogenesis. The morning glory optic disc anomaly, likened to the flower for which it was named consist of an enlarged optic disc with a central core of white fibroglial tissue, unusually straightened vessels existing from the edge rather than the center of the optic disc, and a surrounding ring of lightly pigmented subretinal tissue. Previous reports of computed tomographic (CT) findings in colobomas and morning glory syndrome are few . We present CT findings of one case which likes this rare syndrome.
