LASER PHOTOCOAGULATION TREATMENT IN COATS' DISEASE
SB Ankara Hastanesi Göz Kliniği
Eleven patients with Coats' disease were evaluated retrospectively. Six patients with exudative retinal detachment and 1 patient who did not accept laser photocoagulation treatment were excluded. Four patients were treated with argon green laser photocoagulation .The mean follow up period was 43.5 months. After multiple sessions of argon green laser treatment all telengiectazias were disappeared and the exudations were resorbed. The visual acuity improved to 1.0 and 0.7 in 2 patients, because of the macular changes visual improvement was limited to 0.1 and 0.2 level. Early diagnosis and treatment prevents exudative retinal detachment and other complications in Coats disease, thus providing a good visual prognosis.
