PATTERN DYSTROPHIES OF RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIUM

The pattern dystrophies are figure-like lesions located at the RPE which is usually found at fovea and parafoveal area. Sjögren's reticular dystrophy, butterfly dystrophy, macroreticular dystrophy, fundus pulverulentus belong to this dystrophy group. Some forms appear with nonspesific granular form and different forms of dystrophy can be seen in the members of the same family. So that all dystrophies are gathered in a single disease name.
