THE FACTORS EFFECTING THE RESORPTION TIME OF DIABETIC VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE
Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hast. A.D
37 eyes of 32 cases with vitreous hemorrhage due to proliferative diabetic retinopathy have been evaluated retropectively to investigate the factors affecting the resorption time of these hemorrhages. It was found out that the resorption time was 7.1± 2.7 months. Logistic regression analysis revealed that age (R=0.00, p=0,48), duration of diabetes (R=0.00, p=0.29), visual acuity at the time of vitreous hemorrhage (R=0.00, p=0.31), presence of systemic hypertension (R=-0.13, p=0.09), disc neovascularisation (R=0.00, p=0.19) and rubeosis iridis (R=0.03, p=0.15), and completed panretinal photocoagulation (R=0.00, p=0.68) did not affect whereas the presence of posterior vitreous detachment (R=-0.21 , p=0.04) and refractive error (R=-0.20, p= 0.049) did shorten this resorption time.
