SSK Ankara Göz Hastalıkları 2. Göz Kliniği
21 eyes of 19 patients ages between 5-15 were operated due to retinal detachment in Ophthalmology Clinic of SSK Ankara Eye Hospital between November 1992-April 1995. Retinal Detachment was due to congenital retinis chisis in 6, degenerative myopia in 2, giant retinal tear and retinal dialysis after blunt ocular trauma in 4, pseudophakia in 2, aphakia in 1, pars planitis in 1, crystallin lens dislocation with Marfan syndrome in 1, penetrating injury in 3 of the eyes. In one eye retinal detachment has been observed after vitrectomy operation. In 11 eyes pars plana vitrectomy and liquid perfluorocarbon-silicsone oil or perfluorocarbon gas exchange were performed. At the end of the postoperative period retinal reattachment were established in 17 of 21 eyes (%81) and functional cure in 12 eyes(%57.1). Complications were cataract in 2, choroidal detachment in 1, penetrating of silicone oil to anterior chamber in 2, exposure of local explant in 1 and temporary increased ocular tension in 2 eyes.
