Case Report: Syphilitic chorioretinitis is a rare manifestation of secondary syphilis. This case report describes a case of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection induced acute syphilitic posterior placoid chorioretinitis. A 55-year-old male who presented with a bilateral cystoide macular edema developed large syphilitic placoid chorioretinitis on the rigth eye after treatment with intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection (4 mg/0.1 ml) with that resolved when the penicilline treatment were given. A cause and effect relationship was discussed between intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection and the appearance of acute syphilitic posterior placoid chorioretinitis.
