²M.D. Asistant Professor, Baskent University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Ankara/TURKEY Endophthalmitis is a rare, and perilous condition effecting ocular spaces, which is caused by spread of microorganisms through endogeneus or exogeneous ways. İntraocular and periocular surgeries, trauma, intravitreal injections, systemic bacterial or fungal infections can cause endophthalmitis. Endophthalmitis can be classified by its evolution period as acute or chronic. Endophthalmitis treatment can differ due to various etiological causes or agents. As a result endophthalmitis is a medical emergency threating eye and vision significantly which can be treated by early and appropriate managements.
