In this paper, a case of an 8-years-old referred to our clinic due to PEI is presented. A corneal FB measuring 0.2 mm was present at the slit lamp examination after the patient?s primary suturing. Although fundus blurred as illumination, intravitreal haemorrhage (VIH), 2 metallic foreign bodies (FB?s) on nasal retina and retinal detachment (RD) were observed. While corneal FB was not noted on CT imaging taken, 2 FB?s measuring about 3 mm were reported in the vitreous. When the patient was operated for FB extraction, a FB measuring 0.3 mm couldn?t had been detected on CT was found in the vitreous additionally. As a result 2 undetectable FB?s on CT were determined. It follows, as seen in this patient, it shouldn?t be forgotten that CT imaging may be inadequate in detecting especially small FB?s.
