Hastanesi, Göz Hastalıkları, İstanbul - TÜRKİYE In this study, we aimed to evaluate fi ve patients with bilateral rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) in both eyes, treated in our clinic in October 2010-June 2015, in terms of incidence, etiology, clinical features and surgery success. 174 records of patients who underwent vitreoretinal surgery due to retinal detachment were evaluated retrospectively. 5 patients developing detachment in both eyes were identifi ed. Bilterality incidence was % 2,87. The average age of patients was 55 (33-68). 4 patients were male, 1 patient was female. The average follow up time was 15.2 months. 3 (60%) patients had a history of bilateral cataract surgery. In 4 of the 10 eyes (%40) vitrectomy + silicon tamponade, in 2 of the 10 eyes (%20) serklaj band surgery + intravitreal SF6 tamponade, in one of the 10 eyes (%10) intravitreal C3F8 tamponade + laser photocoagulation, in one of the 10 eyes (%10) vitrectomy + serklaj band surgery, in one of the 10 eyes (%10) vitrectomy + intravitreal sF6 tamponade were performed. A patient whose one eye operated by us had serklaj band surgery history in the other eye. In 7 of the 9 eyes performed surgery (%78) anatomic success were obtained. Visual acuity in the 5 eyes (% 55) was increased, in the 3 eyes (%33) wasn?t changed and in the 1 eye (%11) was decreased Keywords : Bilateral retinal detachment; incidence; vitreoretinal surgery
