SSK Ulucanlar Göz Bankası, Ankara Optic nerve avulsion is a rare but serious complication of ocular trauma. A 12-year-old male presented with loss of vision following a traffic accident. The optic nerve was totally avulsed. This case report describes a patient with total optic nerve avulsion due to fractures of sphenoid bone and shows typical aspect of retina.
