Incidence Of Glaucoma And Pathologies Effecting Central Vision In Retinitis Pigmentosa
GATA Göz Hastalıkları AD.
Visual acuity assessment, ocular tension measurement, gonioscopy, flash electroretinograhpy, static perimetry and fundus fluorescein angiography were performed in 40 eyes of 20 patient with retinitis pigmentosa. Irido-corneal angles were open all 40 eyes, ocular tension was above 21 mmHg (Right eye 23 mmHg, left eye 24 mmHG) and 6/10 glaucomatous cupping was found as 13.9± 3.13 mmHg. Visual acuties were compared with central 30 degrees of visual fields and it was found that was statistically significant difference between them. Although lesions were beyond the central area, central pathologies such as retinal pigment epitelium defect and cystoid macular edema were found in sixteen out of fourty eyes (%40).
