RETINAL PERIPHLEBITLS AND UVEITIS IN A PATIENT WITH MULTIPL SCLEROSIS
Fırat Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hast. AD., Elazığ
Purpose: To report a patient with multiple sclerosis (MS) associated with periphlebitis retina and uveitis. Case report: A 42-year-old woman with a 8-year history of MS and a 2-year history of chronic iridocyclitis was referred for evaluation. Ophthalmological examinations revealed iridocyclitis in both eyes and retinal periphlebitis in the right eye. Laboratory tests were negative for sarcoidosis, tuberculosis and syphilis. Chest x-rays were normal. Fluorescein angiography showed no perivenous leakage in the right eye.
Conclusions: Uveitis occurs more common in patients with MS than in the general population, and this association varies widely. Keywords : Multiple Sclerosis, Uveitis, Retinal periphlebitis
