Chronic Hypotony and its Surgical Management

Chronic hypotony is described as an intraocular pressure less then 5 mmHg and resulting structural and functional changes.It can be either result or cause of vitreoretinal intervention and pathologies.Cases of chronic hypotony are evaluated; fibrous membrane that causes traction in the iridociliary area and resulting ciliary body detachment are frequently discovered.
Removing of membranes and use of silicone oil as endotamponade is treated of choise in ceses of proliferative vitreociliopathy due to different etiologies. Keywords : Chronic hypotony, surgical management
